360 International offers exciting virtual global learning opportunities for University of Auckland students. Some of the virtual programmes offered on our website are fully or partially funded.
Why consider virtual global learning?
Virtual programmes allow students to engage and collaborate with others from around the world, develop vital skills for employability, enhance your CV and get involved in an extracurricular opportunity while gaining an international learning experience.
University of Auckland students from all faculties, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, are welcome to apply.

Co-Curricular Recognition Programme
The Co-Curricular Recognition Programme recognises students' engagement in co-curricular activities that develop meaningful learning experiences and is added to your co-curricular record. Taking part in approved 360 International virtual opportunities (not including for-credit academic programmes) can count towards the global citizens path.
Programmes with less than 40 hours total commitment must be combined with another eligible activity for recognition. For more information, check out Co-Curricular Recognition Programme.
Types of virtual programmes
- Leadership certificates: Learn how to become an effective leader and improve your intercultural and interpersonal skills.
- Innovation & sustainability challenges: Get thinking, get creative and identify solutions for current global issues, either as an individual pursuit or in teams with peers around the world.
- Academic short courses: Short intensive courses offered by partner universities during the summer or winter inter-semester breaks allowing you to apply for academic credit towards your degree (with faculty approval).
- Virtual global internships: Gain virtual work experience through approved internship providers, facilitated by Career, Development and Employability Services (CDES).
How to get started
- First check out the virtual programmes currently on offer below. It’s important to look at the dates of the programme, time commitment, funding availability and application process.
- Follow instructions on our website to apply for the programme(s) you are interested in. Note, many programmes require an application both to 360 International (through the University's learning abroad portal) and to the host university or programme provider.
- If you have applied for funding support through an application in the learning abroad portal, we will be in touch after our deadline passes with the outcome of your application and the next steps.

Universitas 21 Global Citizens Course on demand
The on demand version of the programme allows any student at the University of Auckland to access content to develop the skills needed to thrive in the 21st century whilst tackling some of the world’s most pressing problems, outlined in the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).

CDES offers global remote internships to University of Auckland students. Remote internships allow you to gain international work experience and build your CV from anywhere in the world!
